The start of the new school year comes with the announcement that boys aged 12 and 13 will for the first time, be offered an HPV vaccination. The jab, which has until now just been given to girls, and aims to prevent the spread of the virus, which can lead to certain cancers. More than 100,000 cases of cancer will be prevented under plans to give boys the HPV jab as well as girls, health officials have said. Peter Baker, campaign director for HPV Action, said: "We made the
