Men, Cancer and HPV: Increasing Male Participation in HPV Vaccination Programmes

The implementation of gender-neutral (universal) HPV vaccination is a vital step in the elimination of all the cancers caused by HPV in men and women. But it’s also essential that vaccination uptake in boys and girls reaches a 90% target. In many countries, however, the rate in boys is significantly lower than 90% and well below the rate for girls. This webinar explores the barriers currently limiting boys’ vaccination uptake and how they can be effectively overcome.

At this webinar, hosted by Global Action on Men's Health and NOMAN is an Island: Race to End HPV, Prof Maria Grandahl (Uppsala University, Sweden) will discuss her research on the barriers to HPV vaccination for boys and Tashi Dawa (Ministry of Health, Bhutan) will reflect on the lessons learned from Bhutan on extending a girls-only vaccination programme to boys.

Date: 18 June 2025. Time: 09.00 BST / 10.00 CEST / 16.00 MST / 18.00 AEST.
